Privacy policy

This site is static. We do not run accounts, comments or forms, and we set no cookies of our own.

Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability. If we add analytics or affiliate links later, we will update this page to name the services used.

Affiliate partners, if used, may set their own cookies when you click through to their sites. Their privacy policies apply there.

The software picker and cost calculator run entirely in your browser; nothing you enter is sent anywhere.

Contractor search

The "Find a contractor" ZIP search runs in your browser. It downloads a public data file for your ZIP's first three digits (and, in Texas, your county) from this site. Your ZIP isn't sent to anyone else and we don't store it. Our host may log standard requests, as on any website.

The homepage search box and "Ask the guide" also run entirely in your browser: they download a small index of this site's pages and match your words locally. Nothing you type is sent or stored.
